Frequently Asked Questions

Barista is experiencing rapid growth, underpinned by a strong brand heritage and a proven franchise model. We proudly serve a loyal customer base with a diverse selection of high-quality coffee, baked goods, and other offerings every day. With a focus on operational excellence, an efficient supply chain, and a dedicated following, we offer a highly profitable business opportunity for those looking to join our expanding network.

Barista offers two distinct franchising models to suit different business preferences:

1. FIFO Model – Franchise Invested, Franchise Operated

In this model, the franchisee is responsible for both the initial investment in the outlet and the day-to-day operations. This includes procurement, maintenance, staff management, utility bill payments, and recruitment. Active daily involvement from the franchisee is required. This model is an excellent opportunity for those with experience in the food and beverage sector, offering both an investment avenue and a comprehensive long-term business strategy.

2. FICO Model – Franchise Invested, Company Operated

With the FICO model, the franchisee handles the initial investment, while Barista manages the day-to-day operational responsibilities. These include procurement, training, maintenance, staff management, utility bill settlements, and recruitment. This model is ideally suited for busy professionals or business owners with limited time for direct operational involvement.

An investment ranging from LKR 25-30 million is required for outlet development. This budget is typically divided equally, with 50% allocated for the procurement of equipment, machinery, and IT systems, and the remaining 50% allocated for the design and construction of the outlet. Additionally, Barista will contribute approximately LKR 1.5 million towards the branding and marketing of the outlet.

An investment of LKR 20-25million is required for the outlet development. This budget will be divided into a 50% allocation for purchasing equipment, machinery, and IT systems and a 50% allocation for designing and developing the outlet. Barista will also contribute close to LKR 1.5 million for branding the outlet.

All of our franchise outlets are consistently achieving double-digit net profit margins and a payback period of under 25 months.

As per our expansion strategy map, we have a keen interest in establishing franchise outlets in the following regions:

  • Ratnapura
  • Horana
  • Habarana
  • Gampaha
  • Ragama
  • Kaduwela
  • Anuradhapura
  • Polonnaruwa
  • Kolonnawa
  • Trincomalee
  • The outlet should be between 1,400 and 1,800 square feet in size.
  • It must be located on the main road, ideally on the right side.
  • The outlet should be situated on the ground floor, preferably with a horizontal layout.
  • The outlet’s width should exceed its depth.
  • There must be 6-7 parking spaces directly in front of the outlet, not on the side or opposite side.
  • A viable 5-year rental agreement is required. Rental costs may vary by location but should not exceed LKR 350,000 in the specified areas.
Effective from February 1, 2025, a licensing and mobilization fee of 3 million will be applied
